We have successfully completed a fishing camp

The fly fishing camp is an experience that combines education, fun, and connection in a natural environment. Children and young people learn the basics of fly fishing, and later on, they upgrade and develop their fishing skills, learn about the importance of nature conservation, and build lasting friendships in a pleasant and encouraging atmosphere.
The main focus of the camp is, of course, fishing under the guidance of mentors. This time, we spent all our time on the Soča River, which proved to be quite welcoming to anglers these days. Nevertheless, some young fishers learned that the journey from the strike to the net can be quite challenging.
There was also plenty of time for the youngsters to improve their fly fishing techniques and learn about the fish species in the Tolmin fishing district.
We also discovered that artificial flies can even serve as currency when playing cards.
Besides its 350 regular members, RD Tolmin also has 40 junior members, to whom the fishing club offers at least ten guided mentorship sessions per year as part of the project.
Mentoring young fly fishers is crucial for preserving the tradition of fly fishing and for passing on knowledge and passion for fishing to future generations. With the right support, equipment, inspiration, and guidance, mentors can help shape new generations of dedicated and responsible fly fishers.
