The project focuses on the rich tradition of fly fishing in the Soča Valley, a potential that has not yet been fully utilized. The aim of the project is to increase awareness among the local population, youth, and other target groups about the importance of sustainable environmental protection, nature conservation, and the value of fisheries and fishing tourism.

Promoting fly fishing in the local environment brings numerous benefits that improve quality of life, strengthen the economy, and protect the natural environment. Anglers who understand the importance of clean water and a healthy ecosystem are often its most dedicated advocates. High-quality fishing areas can attract tourists, contributing to the local economy through increased spending on accommodation, food, and other services. Fly fishing is also a social activity that connects people and strengthens the sense of community. Group fishing trips and events bring together different generations regardless of gender.

Fly fishing in the Soča region is part of cultural heritage, and by promoting this activity, the tradition is preserved. Local fly fishing programs educate young people and adults about nature, fish, ecology, and the importance of conservation. Promoting fly fishing includes the practice of catch and release, which helps maintain fish populations and ensures sustainable fishery management. Due to extreme events in 2022 and 2023, their impacts on aquatic ecosystems will be collected and analyzed through data analysis.
